Traffic and Parking
- A comprehensive traffic report and peer review have been included in the EIS.
- Under the proposal there will be 50 less boats stored in the Bay resulting in lower parking demand.
- Traffic engineers have calculated that with fewer boats in the Bay, the existing summer weekend parking demand of 47 cars for the two marinas will reduce to 32 cars based on most recent traffic and parking data.
- There are 391 spaces within 300 meters of the marinas. (Follow the link below to see the Average Parking Availability over the following dates; 14/10/2006, 15/10/2006, 15/11/2006, 16/11/2006, 17/11/2006, 18/11/2006, 26/11/2006.)
- Rose Bay Marina parking capacity:
- 163 Spaces within 200m of Rose Bay Marina.
- Point Piper Marina parking capacity:
- 56 Spaces within 200m of Point Piper Marina.
- Under the proposal 72% less boats will be accessed from Point Piper Marina.
- This proposal will create a more natural balance between Rose Bay and Point Piper Marinas, reducing the impact on Point Piper significantly.
- The marina will berth vessels for private use, no large scale commercial operations will operate at the proposed marina.
