Environmental Impact

There will be NO Dredging under the proposal.
At present no public pumpout facilities exist on Sydney Harbour, under our proposal there will be publicly accessible pumpout facilities at the marinas; this will have a positive impact on water quality in the harbour.
Modern boats are now designed to meet very strict environmental standards on noise, pollution, fuel consumption and emissions.
The new marinas will be more environmentally friendly than the current 30 year old marinas. Floating berths are preferred to swing mooring arrangements because;

There will be no lawn mower effect from block and chain, which scours the delicate sea grass bed ecosystems from the bay.
The new marina structure creates excellent fish habitat.
The new structure is located clear of all sea grass beds, which will allow them to regenerate and provide a healthy bed to support a wide variety of marine life.

As part of the proposal funding is offered to install dinghy storage racks and other initiatives to improve the environment of Rose Bay.
